Prologue

Roy Kapoor Mansion

"Some truths only reveal themselves when it’s already too late.”

The night was too quiet.

Rain tapped against the glass windows of the mansion like a slow warning, like the universe was trying to whisper something no one wanted to hear.

Kriva stood in the middle of the massive hall, her eyes red, her fingers trembling around the silver bracelet she held.

His bracelet.

Vyan’s.

Her voice cracked as she spoke—low, bitter, and filled with a hurt she didn’t know she was still capable of feeling.

"You lied to me."

From across the room, he didn’t move. His face was unreadable as always—calm, dangerous, detached.

But his hands?

They were clenched.

Tightly.

"And you didn’t even think I deserved the truth?"

Silence.

It screamed louder than words.

Vyan stepped closer. Just one step. But it was enough to steal her breath.

"I did it because I couldn’t lose you," he said, voice dangerously low.

"Even if it meant never being loved by you."

Her heart cracked.

Loud.

Brutal.

Because it was the first time he sounded like a man breaking—not just breaking her.

"You destroyed everything just to have me?"

His jaw tightened.

"No, Kriva."

"I destroyed myself... the day I fell for you."
